2017 has been a good year for pro-life advocacy. I am grateful that the Down Syndrome Non-Discrimination Act, which the Center for Bioethics endorsed, passed in both the Ohio House and Senate. I personally had the privilege of testifying before committees in both chambers in support of this legislation.
On December 22, 2017, Ohio Governor John Kasich signed the bill into law, making Ohio the third state to enact such a ban. Similar laws have passed in North Dakota and Indiana.
Abortions are down in Ohio and across the U.S. Perhaps 2018 will be the year to directly take on Roe v. Wade.
